Instructions

In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in one cup of very warm water for about 5 minutes. Add sugar, salt, and oil and stir.

Add four cups of water and begin to add flour three or four cups at a time. Dump dough on counter and begin to knead. The dough should not be stiff or sticky.

Cover dough and let rise until double, then punch down and form into 4 loaves. Place loaves in greased baking pans.

Let loaves rise until just above the rim of the baking pan.

Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes. Spread melted butter over the tops while still warm.
