Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 6 slice bread
  • 6 slice ham
  • 6 slice provolone cheese
  • 6 slice turkey
  • 6 slice swiss cheese

Batter

Ingredients

  • 1 none egg
  • 1 C flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 C water

Finish

Ingredients

  • tsp oil (for frying)
  • 1/2 C raspberry jam
  • 1/2 C sour cream

Instructions

  1. In a large pot or deep fryer, heat 1-2 inches of vegetable oil to 350 degrees
  2. To assemble sandwich, layer one slice of bread, ham, provolone cheese, turkey, and swiss cheese, and then another slice of bread. Secure all four corners of the sandwich with toothpicks.
  3. Add flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and water and mix until smooth.
  4. Dip sandwiches in batter, coating all edges and sides.
  5. Carefully fry sandwich until golden brown (about 2-3 minutes) on each side. Remove from oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to soak up extra oil.
  6. Mix jam and sour cream together to make the dip for the sandwich.
