Cinnamon Rolls Print Scale Recipe: 1x 2x 3x 4x Ingredients 1 cup milk 1 stick butter ¾ cups sugar (add 1 tsp), divided 1 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon yeast ¼ cups water, lukewarm 1 teaspoon sugar 4 larges eggs, slightly beaten 4 cups flour, divided Instructions Scald milk. Remove from stove. Add the butter and sugar and salt to the scalded milk. Let sit until butter is melted. In a small bowl, add yeast to ¼ cup of lukewarm water. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of sugar over top of yeast/water. This helps to activate the yeast faster because the yeast feeds off of the sugar. Pour milk mixture into large mixing bowl, add in 2 cups of the flour and stir. Add the yeast mixture and stir and then add the eggs and rest of flour and stir. The dough will be sticky! Do not add more flour. While it rises it will become more workable. Let dough rise on the counter until doubled in size. Roll out dough on floured counter in large rectangle. Dough should be about ¼ inch thick. Spread with melted margarine, brown sugar, cinnamon and chopped nuts and raisins if you like. Roll up and cut about 1 inch thick. Should make about 12 rolls. Place in 13x9 baking dish and allow to rise. Bake 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Butter tops after baking then frost.
