May use 1 lb Italian sausage if you want less sausage in the dish. Use 2 28-ounce cans whole or crushed tomatoes. Fresh basil and oregano can be used - 1/4 cup fresh basil chopped or 1 tablespoon dried basil, and 1/4 cup fresh oregano chopped or 1 tablespoon dried oregano.
